Mailbox Monday

This week, my mailbox is empty. Empty, folks.

Actually, this is on purpose - I have really been feeling the need to catch up on some of my backlog - do you have any idea HOW MANY BOOKS I have waiting to be read?? So I have decided to cut WAAAAY back on the books I request, swap, accept, etc. I need to start reading MY books again.

So, things might be a little slow on the mailbox end, but don't worry - I'm still reading!

Mailbox Monday is hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page - I'm sure SOMEONE else has something a little more exciting to report!

I'm going to follow your advice. I'm going to cut way back too and just catch up.

I thought I'd cut way back, but I guess I didn't do as good a job as you did.

I joined a challenge called Read Your Own Books just to help get through the shelves of unread but had to be bought books I own. I'm hoping the challenge helps : )

I've cut way down on requesting arcs.

In November I said I would cut back too and I did well at first but mostly because most of the offers coming through weren't that interesting to me.

In December a whole bunch came through that were interesting to me and I broke so in January I got TONS of books and I still am getting quite a few.

I hope you do better than me!

I've been cutting back as well -- I think I got one book last week. But, I've fallen behind on my Mailbox Monday posts so I'm going to have a huge batch of books to post from previous weeks. (I don't think I posted the books I got for Christmas yet -- yikes!)

I hear you! It can get a bit overwhelming some times -- especially when you get review copies that you feel like you HAVE to read right away ... when another book might be yelling "read me, read me." I'm still pretty new to book blogging so the thrill of getting review copies has not grown old yet ... plus I'm not totally swamped. Good for you for taking some time to just enjoy your reading!

I've been trying to cut back as well, and did pretty good for a few weeks, and I just don't know what happened last week! I think I received 22 books!!

Here's my Mailbox! ~ Wendi

Julie - it really feels good!

bermuda - hey, every little bit helps. Besides, I haven't COMPLETELY quit...

Alea - not stronger, probably just more buried.

Mary - I think I'm in that challenge too!

Callista - I have a bad feeling the same thing might happen to me...

Ruth - that will be a fun post to read!

Jenners - I know what you mean about being excited to get review copies. But I still have so much of my OWN to read!

Wendi - see, 22 books in 1 week is what I HAVE to avoid!!

Sometimes you need an empty mailbox to reduce the TBR pile a bit. I've been cutting back, too, and I still have towers of books in my house!

Thank for stopping by the mailbox this week. I'm with you. Only the one last week for me.
