Teaser Tuesday

TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:
  • Grab your current read.
Let the book fall open to a random page.
Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given
    !
    Please avoid spoilers!

"There is a recurring notion of violin music in the dark. I can't trace it: a thread of what's recalled or forgotten. Looking at everything I can see: sun rising out of the Pacific, transcendental magenta and scarlet, rain forest rowing north into a settled haze and mountain, mythological, azure and green. Me at the open port of a helicopter dreaming the view of more than one river at once."

(uncorrected proof of Fatal Light by Richard Currey, p. 43)

Teaser Tuesday is hosted by MizBe at ShouldBeReading.

A French Patisserie landed Center Stage, all gleaming wood and sparkling glass. The fairies followed her inside with screams of delight, lured by the intoxicating scents of buttery pastry and caffe lattes. Bertie lolled against the marble counter and admired the copper behemoth of an espresso machine. (page 155 of the ARC)

Those are really intriguing teasers. Makes me wonder just what's going on there. Sounds idyllic but also sort of ominous.
