I seriously cannot let my husband see this post...

So the question this week is- how many books do you have cataloged in your LibraryThing account? How do you decide what to include- everything you have, everything you've read- and are there things you leave off?

My current count is.......(drumroll please)....1,103. These are all books I physically have in my house, except for the Early Reviewer books (6) that I have passed along. I'm pretty sure I know own more books that the library in the little town I lived in before I moved to Des Moines. I don't have room for a china cabinet because I need that space for books. I have very little of that tagged, mostly because the idea of going back and tagging everything seems overwhelming. I have to admit it is a lot of fun, though, to watch the number go up when I acquire something new. Now you all have to promise not to tell my husband......=)

That is a LOT of books! I don't keep too many books in the house- I probably only have 200-300 here, just the special ones. The rest I give away to friends or donate.

I won't tell your husband, LOL.

Oh, I also read the post below this one. Way to go...look forward to reading about the book.

Lol the tagging was a pain, but once it's all done it's pretty helpful :)

I've just found your blog - what a great name. I seriously need more bookshelves too - I have books everywhere. My tagging is pathetic, most says "fiction", not very helpful I know, but it's so time-consuming. I still haven't got all my books into LT. I like to have the right cover so that means scanning when LT doesn't have one to match my book - even more time-consuming, but I do enjoy seeing the results.

I tag definitely. Though it can be a bit of a nuisance especially when I forget something and have to go back to the page to add another one in. It's usually something really simple too like fiction that I forget LOL.

I had to laugh at the title of your post. That's the exact reason I refrained from admitting how many unread books I have in my house. My husband can see them all, but it's best if he doesn't know the exact count. Of course, he could easily find out by looking up our library on LibraryThing, but he probably wouldn't think to do that. :-)

Hiya I tagged you, take a look on my blog to see what's going on. If you do it that's great but it's not compulsory LOL.
